Silver Tree started as a tree surgery firm and grew the way healthy trees do: outward from a strong core. Today the group covers arboriculture, grounds maintenance, plant nurseries, biomass fuel, and accredited training, all run from Gloucestershire by the same family team.

Silver Tree was founded in [2004 by Paul Craddock as a tree surgery business. Over the following years the work broadened from arboriculture into grounds maintenance and landscaping, and the company grew to more than 30 staff. As the range of services expanded, the business was organised into a group, Silver Tree, made up of four divisions: Services, Nurseries, Biomass and Training. Services remains the core of the group and the part of the business most customers deal with directly.

It is a family-run company. Paul continues to lead it as Director, and family members work across the operation, including in day-to-day operations management. The group is based in Gloucestershire and works across the county, the surrounding South West and nationwide.

Operating as a group rather than a set of separate businesses gives customers a consistent standard of work on every job. The Services division holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and is an ARB Approved Contractor, and those standards, along with shared equipment, trained staff and a single line of accountability, apply across every branch. Whether the work is tree surgery, grounds maintenance or landscaping, it is delivered by the same organisation to the same standard, and the group can draw on the right people and machinery from across its divisions for any given job.
